Placefetch – Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Placefetch (the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

  1. Who We Are

Placefetch is operated by Tagstar Limited, a company incorporated in the United Kingdom (“we”, “us”, or “our”).

  1. The Service

Placefetch is a software tool that enables users to search, retrieve, and process place-related data by interfacing with third-party services and APIs, including but not limited to Google Maps Platform / Google Places APIs, using user-supplied API keys.

Placefetch does not provide, resell, sublicense, or distribute third-party services or data. All third-party services are accessed directly by users under their own agreements with the relevant providers.

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

  1. Third-Party Services

Your use of third-party services accessed through Placefetch (including Google Maps Platform services) is governed solely by your agreements with those third-party providers.

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • You are the customer of the third-party provider, not Placefetch
  • You are responsible for complying with all applicable third-party terms, policies, quotas, and licensing requirements
  • Placefetch has no control over third-party services, availability, pricing, or enforcement actions

Placefetch is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any third-party provider.

  1. User Responsibilities

You agree that you are solely responsible for:

  • Providing accurate account information
  • Maintaining the confidentiality and security of your API keys and credentials
  • All activity conducted using your account or API keys
  • Complying with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Ensuring your use of the Service complies with third-party terms, including Google Maps Platform policies

You must not use the Service in a way that violates applicable laws or third-party terms.

  1. API Usage & Billing

You are solely responsible for:

  • All API calls made using your third-party API keys
  • Any fees, charges, or usage costs incurred with third-party providers

Placefetch subscription fees relate only to access to the Placefetch software and features. They do not include third-party API usage, credits, or billing.

Placefetch does not monitor, control, or guarantee third-party billing and is not responsible for unexpected charges, quota exhaustion, or account suspension imposed by third-party providers.

  1. Data Handling

Placefetch processes API responses only as necessary to provide the Service.

  • Placefetch does not claim ownership of your API keys
  • API keys may be revoked or rotated by you at any time
  • Placefetch does not license or resell third-party data
  • Placefetch does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of third-party data

Any use, storage, or reuse of data retrieved through third-party services is your responsibility.

  1. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the Placefetch software, design, branding, and original content (excluding third-party data) are owned by or licensed to Tagstar Limited.

These Terms do not grant you any rights to third-party services or data beyond those granted by the relevant third-party provider.

  1. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Placefetch and Tagstar Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from or related to your use of the Service.

Placefetch shall have no liability for issues arising from third-party services, including but not limited to service outages, API errors, data inaccuracies, billing disputes, enforcement actions, or suspension or termination of third-party accounts or API keys.

  1. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Placefetch and Tagstar Limited, its directors, officers, employees, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party terms, policies, or laws
  • Your misuse of third-party services or API keys
  1. Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe that:

  • your use violates these Terms
  • your use violates applicable laws or third-party requirements
  • your use poses risk to the Service, us, or third parties

Termination does not relieve you of obligations accrued prior to termination.

  1. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted within the Service or on our website. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

  1. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles.
